Cobra Patterns & Models, Inc. was founded by Eric Myers in 1989. The goal was to provide a full service solution to the rapid prototype industry. Cobra Patterns has grown over the years, currently located in Madison Heights, MI since 1993. We are continuously adapting the latest technologies, utilize the latest CAD systems, and maintain a large CNC area. Cobra Patterns & Models proudly maintains a ISO9001:2015 certification.





Cobra specializes in producing prototype castings, we provide both raw and machined castings. Parts are produced either as a sand casting or investment casting. Depending on the volume either a tool is produced or 3D printed molds are made. The choice of cast materials range from many different grades of aluminum, iron and steel. Cobra provides parts machined directly from billet material. And through our strategic relationships we provide stampings, tube and bending services, gears, sealing and coating services. We are truly a one stop source for prototype components.

Here at Cobra Patterns & Models we have the capabilities to work with your engineers and designers to bring their prototype parts to reality. Whether we use tooling, printing or machined from billet, we will produce a quality finished product.



CAD





Utilizing Siemens NX and CATIA our CAD team has combined decades of experience to turn your digital designs into physical parts. We design both pattern tooling and printed sand mold packages. Our years of experience will ensure that your prototype designs will function as intended. We will work with your team will to develop a production feasible part.



Pattern Making





Through advancements in CNC machining and 3D printing technology Cobra Patterns can provide CNC machined prototype pattern tooling or a fully printed sand mold package. In order to provide the fastest turnaround a combination of the two methods may be preferred. We have been producing quality prototype foundry tooling for over 30 years.



Machining





Whether you are looking for a one off part machined from billet or a prototype run of several hundred, we have the shop and a machine that can make it! Using an array of CNC machines, we produce guaranteed quality parts in as fast as 1 day. From fixture design to final inspection Cobra Patterns & Models has the experience and equipment to exceed your expectations.



Inspection




Our in-house inspection department takes advantage of the latest in CMM technology to ensure that every part we produce is dimensionally correct. Complete traceable inspection reports are produced for each job. Your part will leave our facility dimensionally correct, clean and safely packaged.
